Planting Seeds

It’s the end of May and it’s time to get those seeds in the ground

if you expect a harvest in a few months!

The very first ‘First Lady’, Martha Washington, shared some thoughts on seeds…

the seeds we plant in our minds.

In a letter to a friend she wrote,

“I am still determinedm washington

to be cheerful and happy

in whatever situation I may be;

for I have also learned

from experience

that the greater part

                of our happiness or misery

                depends on our dispositions

and not on our circumstances.

We carry the seeds

of one or the other

about with us in our minds,

wherever we go.”

Seeds of happiness or misery. That is your choice.

Whatever the situation, it is your disposition and not your circumstance;

your outlook, not your condition.

seedsAre there thorns and thistles in the ground? It’s not too late to uproot them, to till the earth, and to plant seeds of contentment.

It’s the end of May and it’s time to get some new seeds in the ground

if you expect a harvest in a few months!
